We get angry when we don’t get what we want or when we’ve been hurt by our loved ones.

We all know people whose anger could be verbalized in one of the following: “You took the best years of my life”, “you owe me an opportunity to try”, ” you owe me a second chance “, ” you owe me affection “, ” you took my reputation “.

The root of anger is the perception that something has been taken. What debt is causing the anger you feel?, Anger can take up residence in the heart and live there for years.

I’d like to propose that today should be the day when you quit holding on to hurt. While it’s true that you cannot undo what’s been done, it’s equally true that you don’t have to let the past control your future. Forgetting the past requires mental and spiritual discipline. ( Ephesians 4:26&30-32).

You can feel guilty when you regret something you have done or said that you cannot take back. It might feel like your conscience is reminding you about what happened. If you feel guilty about something specific, you could make a deal with yourself to do something about it. Do not let guilt consume your thoughts and heart.

The only remedy to rid yourself of guilt and anger is FORGIVENESS.

Forgive yourself and whom ever you have hurt or has hurt you. If you regard iniquity in your heart, you put yourself in prison, if you forgive yourself and others, you set yourself free. ( Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago- Isaiah 43:18).

And I dream I can spread my wings…

Inge Wallage

Emotions were sailing through her body, thoughts occupying her mind. The inner turmoil was too much. Oh, what experience over the last days, deep and beautiful, but also tough and rough. It was as if she needed to get rid of something now. Tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn’t hold them back, but then why would she? If people watched her and saw, would it really matter? She closed her eyes. Songs were floating through her veins. She felt the music deep inside her gut and it gave rise to her emotions.

“And I dream I’m an eagle.
And I dream I can spread my wings”

She gave into the feeling of moving up, the surge to fly. She erected herself, stood on her toes, spread her arms, felt her wings materialise and up she hovered. The eagle in her broke free, giving into all issues that characterised her…

I fell beneath the shady forest

My heart was still racing

I was breathing

Why did the earth beneath me quiver and rapture?

Why was I suddenly freckled with layers of dust?

Why did everything start to clatter and crash?

I could not see anyone

I could not see YOU.

My eyes felt heavy

Somebody held me by my hand

I clinged to HIS body like the slightest amount of Hope.

HIS touch healed my broken soul

And at once, I knew it was LORD.

I did not cry, I just couldn’t

HE smiled at me and lifted me up

I wondered about the stories been told about how wonderful HE is.

The good HE did in the world and is still doing

How did this happen?

Was it my fault I fell?, I asked

No!, He said, you just got lost in the world and now you have been found.

When you find the cross is heavy

And you feel like giving in

Take your weakness straight to Jesus ,

      He will strengthen you within ;

He will give you grace and power,

 He will bring you safely through;

Countless hosts He leads to victory,

He will do the same for you.

Happy Sunday everyone ✨

Sometimes the devil allows people to live a life free of trouble because he doesn’t want them turning to God.
Your sin is like a jail cell, except it’s all nice and comfy, and there doesn’t seem to be any need to leave.

The door’s wide open, till one day, time runs out and the cell door slams shut and suddenly it’s too late.

Trust is a valued character trait often lacking in today’s world. We have to learn to trust God in every circumstance and in every area of our lives. Read (Joshua 1:9).

Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord ” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jesus answered “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. “ He is not telling us to forgive our brothers 490 times or 70 times or 77 times but we should always learn to forgive those who offend us no matter what for God in heaven has forgiven us all of humanity’s sins.  (Matthew 18:22).

The goal of prayer is communication with God, to get to know your creator. Meditation and contemplation are states of focused attention. It is no mistake that God chooses to talk to us inside of our own minds. It is the most intimate communication possible.

Out of fear, many believers have abandoned meditation, thinking it will or only connect with the forces of evil. The way to hear God’s voice is to get still and meditate. If we are too busy to meditate, we are too busy to hear His voice. There is nothing wrong with meditating, it is a sound practice, there is nothing wrong with listening to God.

In meditation you direct and are in control of your own thinking. This is you thinking of yourself, purposefully causing images or thoughts to form in your mind. You will reach a point where you turn over your thinking to God. Then God creates the images and words for you. This is communication from God, and it moves you from the state of meditation to the state of contemplation.

To try contemplation, sit or lie down in a quiet place, pay attention to your breathing, relax and quieten your mind. Ask God what He has to say to you today. Then open yourself up in every way you know how, every sense and receive the communication from God. Human directed meditation is left behind and God directs the journey. This is contemplation, do not be afraid, God will not take you too fast, He will give you just enough spiritual experience  to keep you coming back for more.

The more you return, the more you learn about yourself and God. You can use something sensory that will focus your attention like music, flowing water, candle or sunset. At some point, God will take over your thinking, allow Him to bring you along. Do not be in the hurry, everyone is different. No two people are the same, we all have a unique spiritual journey.
