DO IT FOR YOURSELF, NOT FOR OTHERS ….
She wanted to fit in,
To be one of them,
She seek acceptance,
She was willing to do anything it took her,
To be noticed was all she ever craved for,
So she changed,
Her hair style,
Her modest way of dressing,
Her way of speaking,
Her walk changed too,
She was no longer the vibrant soul,
I once knew,
She had become something she herself was sacred of,
But was it her fault,
Her only mistake was seeking acceptance,
Was it wrong,
Was it stupid?
What is it she did wrong,
Was it her hair,
Was it the new dress code,
I’ll tell you her mistake,
She seeked acceptance from all the wrong people,
She only needed to seek self acceptance.
